Assessment: Chronic tension in the muscles of the under-neck and topline, abdominal region and limb flexors had distorted this mare’s naturally balanced posture and good conformation. She had difficulty balancing and reaching through her natural stride, as well as a tendency to be “cold-backed” and explosive.

Session Notes: As the session progressed, the mare was able to release much of the chronic and involuntary muscle contractions she was experiencing – it is clear from the after photo that she is now able to balance and use her body more effectively. She has gained access to the power of her hindquarters by releasing tension in the loin area to free up the hip and lumbo-sacral joints, and will have more reach in front from her more laid back scapular angle.
